Hand Made Fukuro Shinai

Hand crafted and custom leather covered shinai for use in martial arts training.

A little more forgiving than being struck by a bokken and incorporating a tsuba for increased training possibilities.

Details
• Brown leather covered shinai blade with cushioned tip.
• Black rubber tsuba built into blade.
• Tsuka (handle) made into sword shape.
• Tsuka covered in white leather and bound in Japanese cotton tsuka-ito – currently brown, black, blue or white.

4 sizes
• Long – comparable to the large Shinden Fudō Ryū sword. Blade 32-33″ (81-84cm). Handle 11½-12″ (29-31cm)
• Regular – comparable to the standard katana/bokken. Blade 29″ (73-74cm). Handle 11″ (28cm)
• Ninja-tō – the shorter bladed ninja sword. Blade 23″ (58cm). Handle 11″ (28cm)
• Short – wakizashi/shoto size. Blade 19″ (48cm). Handle 6½” (17cm)

Tsuka (Handle) – Black, Brown, Blue, White

The handle is wrapped in Japanese cotton tsuka-ito, handle wrapping thread, and has been expanded to simulate a real sword handle shape and feel. Colours available: Brown, Black, Blue and White.

As each sword is handmade there may be slight differences in the blade or handle length. The blade coverings are brown leather as standard. I do have a limited supply of black leather costing a little more.

* swords can be sent individually, however bundling several together can keep the cost down. I’ve tried to break this down below into the most efficient and economical methods. For UK deliveries I have used domestic couriers (HDNL, Hermes) taking between 2-5 days, outside the UK I am using Parcelforce Globalvalue usually taking between 3-10 days:
